Terms & Conditions



1. Membership

1.1. Fitzone membership is available to individuals aged 16 years and over.

1.2. Membership will commence on the date of joining and is subject to these Terms & Conditions.

1.3. All members must fully complete the online membership form, including the Health Questionnaire (PAR-Q), before accessing the gym.

1.4. Membership is personal, non-transferable and non-refundable.

1.5. Fitzone operates as an unmanned gym. Members train independently and must take responsibility for their own safety and conduct at all times.

1.6. The gym is located on a school site and is secured by perimeter fencing. Access is controlled via a personal PIN, issued to each member and not to be shared under any circumstances.

1.7. Temporary or short-term memberships may be offered at the discretion of management, subject to completion of all required forms and payment of the applicable fee.

1.8. Fitzone is part of Forest of Dean Gymnastics & Fitness Centre, a not-for-profit charity. Annual memberships are eligible for Gift Aid. Members must confirm tax eligibility to allow a Gift Aid claim to be made.


2. Annual Membership Fee

2.1. All members must hold a current annual membership before working out at Fitzone.

2.2. Annual membership fees are:

  • £15 – Adult

  • £25 – Joint / Family

2.3. Annual membership fees must be purchased at reception and cannot be paid online.

2.4. Membership fees contribute towards:

  • Maintenance and replacement of equipment

  • Re-investment in the facility

  • Running costs of the membership, access and security systems


3. Fees & Payment Options

Monthly Direct Debit Membership

3.1. When paying by Direct Debit, an initial payment may be required to cover the period up to your first Direct Debit.

3.2. Monthly membership fees are determined by your chosen membership package.

3.3. All Direct Debit payments are taken on the 1st of each month, or the next working day.

3.4. Monthly fees remain payable regardless of usage.

3.5. We may change the amount of your monthly subscription. You will be given at least 14 days’ notice in writing of any changes.

3.6. If an error is made with a Direct Debit payment by us or your bank/building society, you are entitled to a full and immediate refund under the Direct Debit Guarantee.


10 Visit Card

3.7. 10-visit cards are valid for 4 months from the date of purchase.

3.8. If your annual membership expires and is not renewed, any remaining visits will become invalid.


Casual Visits

3.9. Casual visits must be paid for before using the facility.


4. Inductions & Health & Safety

4.1. Members aged 16–18 must complete a gym induction before using Fitzone.
This can be booked with us or supported by evidence of a recent induction completed elsewhere.

4.2. All members must complete the PAR-Q honestly and accurately.

4.3. Fitzone reserves the right to refuse access if we believe gym use may pose a risk to your health.

4.4. Members who decline an induction may be required to sign a waiver confirming they are experienced gym users.


5. Cancelling Your Membership

5.1. Cancellation requests must be made in writing, giving one month’s notice.

5.2. Direct Debit memberships cannot be cancelled before the agreed contract period has ended and the final payment has been taken.

6. Centre Rules & Etiquette

6.1. All members must comply with Fitzone’s centre rules and etiquette, which form part of this agreement.

6.2. Rules may be updated from time to time and will be displayed in the centre or communicated as appropriate.


7. Facilities & Access

7.1. Membership entitles you to use facilities appropriate to your membership type.

7.2. Fitzone does not guarantee availability of equipment or exclusive access.

7.3. Facilities may occasionally close for maintenance, repairs, events or safety reasons. Where possible, notice will be given.

7.4. No refunds will be issued for temporary closures or reduced availability.


8. Membership Sign-In & Data

8.1. Members must sign in using the ClubRight app or membership card when accessing the gym.

8.2. All members must have a photograph taken for identification purposes. This will be stored securely and used only for club administration.

8.3. Lost or damaged cards may be replaced for a fee at reception.
